The DVD: 'Cough free – the way to be'
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Health TV the Asthma Foundation has put together a DVD. Cough free – the way to be, narrated by former Warriors rugby league player Wairangi Koopu, focuses on recognising the signs of infection that can lead to bronchiectasis and acting on them. It is aimed specifically at Maori but is applicable to everyone.
What Maui Learnt about Asthma
Maui the mighty takes control of his asthma with the help of his tupuna – Papatuanuku and Ranginui. Written by Waka Cookson, Asthma and Respiratory Management BOP Inc. Illustrations by Daniel Ririnui.
Kohokoho
This pukapuka tells the story of Rongo, a 7 year old Maori boy who experiences his first asthma attack, and the actions his mother takes to help him cope with this very frightening experience. Kohokoho is written in Te Reo Maori. We have a limited supply, but we can provide up to 5 copies (each) to any interested organisations. The Asthma Foundation would like to thank the Ministry of Education for making this resource available for distribution.
