THE ASTHMA FOUNDATION IS NEW ZEALAND’S NOT-FOR-PROFIT SECTOR AUTHORITY ON ASTHMA AND OTHER RESPIRATORY ILLNESSES. WE ADVOCATE TO GOVERNMENT AND RAISE AWARENESS OF RESPIRATORY ILLNESSES, FUND RESEARCH FOR BETTER TREATMENTS AND EDUCATE ON BEST PRACTICE. WE PROVIDE RESOURCES ON OUR WEBSITE AND SUPPORT OUR 17 AFFILIATED ASTHMA SOCIETIES IN PROVIDING EDUCATION, SUPPORT AND ADVICE.

OUR AFFILIATED ASTHMA SOCIETIES AROUND NEW ZEALAND AND THEIR BRANCHES OFFER ONE-ON-ONE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FREE OR AT LITTLE COST.

The Asthma Foundation's Achievers Awards are for New Zealanders with respiratory conditions who achieve things despite the challenges that their conditions bring into their lives.  Nine inspiring people were presented with their certificates and trophies by the Governor General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae at Government House in Wellington on 22 November.  To read more about what makes our Achievers special look under or for more photos, visit our  page.

The World Asthma Report
