The Asthma Foundation is New Zealand’s not-for-profit sector authority on asthma and other respiratory illnesses. We advocate to government and raise awareness of respiratory illnesses, fund research for better treatments and educate on best practice. We provide resources on our website and support our 18 affiliated asthma societies in providing education, support and advice services.
Our affiliated Asthma Societies and their branches offer one-on-one education and support free or at little cost.
The Asthma Foundation is signed up with Fundraise Online at www.fundraiseonline.co.nz, a fabulous website that enables people to raise money for their favourite causes.
New Zealand Olympic swimming legend and Asthma Ambassador, Danyon Loader, has registered a very special event on the website, for which he is keen to get support from around Aotearoa. Danyon and a group of other high level champion New Zealand swimmers are racing each other for charity on Saturday 10 April 2010 at the West Wave Aquatic Centre in Waitakere.
Funds raised by Danyon will go to the Asthma Foundation.
We urge you to get behind Danyon in his support for better respiratory health for New Zealanders.
